Make The Healthy Choice is a 501(c)3 established to promote and enhance public health awareness, focusing on environmental, nutritional, and fitness education in the southern sector of Dallas, Texas. South Dallas contains numerous underutilized trails and faces challenges related to food deserts.

Our mission is to enhance public health in South Dallas through environmental, nutritional, and fitness awareness, increasing access to local trails and healthy food options to support a more active, informed, and healthy community.

Christopher Moorer II
Founder & CEO
Chris earned a bachelor's of Public Health from the University of North Texas at Dallas. He is originally from Detroit, Michigan and has been in the DFW area since 2011. He is a community advocate and brings a wealth of experience and passion to Make The Healthy Choice.
Originally an idea sparked in 2017, the organization reflects Chris's dedication to improving health access and environmental awareness. With a background as a community health worker at Dallas County Health and Human Services and Abounding Prosperity, Chris has worked directly with underserved communities to promote health equity.
Chris is a published author and avid DFW trail explorer since 2018. He is passionate about environmentalism, nutrition, wildlife conservation, land preservation, and is a firm advocate for addressing climate change.
